Dr. Shailesh Ayyangar assumed office as Managing Director of Aventis Pharma Limited on October 25, 2005.
Dr. Ayyangar has wide-ranging experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He held senior Sales and Marketing positions in SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in India and Great Britain. He was also Wholetime Director of SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals before its merger with GlaxoWellcome. He was Head of the Tropical Medicine Business unit for International Markets in SmithKline Beecham, UK, for four years prior to his return to India.
A graduate in Veterinary Science, Dr. Ayyangar holds a Post-graduate Degree in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
Mr. Gaurav Bahadur,
Senior Director – Human Resources
Gaurav Bahadur, was appointed Senior Director – Human Resources, India & South Asia, effective 15th April, 2013.
Gaurav has a rich experience of nearly 20 years in Human Resources, a significant part of which he has spent in the services industry of telecommunications. Over the years, he has held increasingly responsible positions in many international companies in India, in particular Vodafone Essar Limited, Hutchison Global Services, Yahoo! India and Philips.
Prior to joining Sanofi, Gaurav was working at First source Solutions Limited as Executive Vice President – Human Resources, responsible for global HR.
Gaurav holds a Master’s Degree in Personnel Management from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management. Pune, India.
Mr. Madhu Rao,
Senior Director - Industrial Affairs
Mr. Madhu Rao joined Hoechst India Limited in June 1973 and worked in the Research Centre at its factory in Mulund, Mumbai. In 1992, he was appointed General Manager, Works at the Ankleshwar site. In 1995, he was deputed to Roussel India Limited as Vice President, Technical Operations, for a period of two years, after which he headed the Project Engineering team of Hoechst Marion Roussel. In February 2000, he was appointed Vice President, Manufacturing, responsible for Drug Products (DP) operations at the Goa Factory and External Manufacturing. In March 2001, he was designated Head of Industrial Excellence,Manufacturing Strategy and Industrial Operations- Human Resources. He has been the Head of Industrial Affairs since July 2002.
Mr. Rao holds a Master’s Degree in Science (Organic Chemistry) from Pune University. He also holds a Diploma in Management Studies from Mumbai University.
Ms. Virginie Boucinha,
Chief Financial Officer
Virginie Boucinha joined as Chief Financial Officer effective July 2012.
Prior to this assignment, Virginie was Associate VP Organizational Effectiveness, Corporate Finance at the Global Head Office in Paris. Over the last 20 years, Virginie has held increasingly responsible positions in Finance & Commercial Operations. She started her career in 1991 as Controller – Industrial Affairs, Europe, and then moved into various roles such as Strategic Projects, Business Excellence, Sales, Marketing, Audit, Controlling and Treasury functions.
Virginie is an MBA from ‘Ecole Superieure de Gestion’, Paris.
Joanna Potts ,
Commercial Operations Officer
Prior to this assignment, Joanna was the Cardio Vascular & Renal Divisional Director, Sanofi, United Kingdom & Ireland. She has held roles of increasing responsibility in Sales, Marketing, and Business Operations across therapeutic fields. Having started her career as an Editor (Scientific Publications) in 1985, Joanna has extensive experience in development of strategy at organisation, portfolio and brand level.
Joanna holds a BSc (Hons) degree from Loughborough University of Technology and Diploma of Industrial Studies (Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry). She has undergone specialization in Finance from Harvard Business School
